Born in 1951 in Douala (Cameroon). Diako grew up submerged in the colours of Africa before moving to Paris in 1961, where he lived until
1973. Then studied at l'Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles from 1974 to 1977.
Fascinated by the art of the 1950's and the bauhaus movement, he moved to Chicago for a year to study at Mies Van Der Rohe school before returning to Belgium to collaborate with Mr Rene AERTS to manage HAUTEVILLE , the hightened antiquity's depatment store in Brussels. In I986 he moved back to Paris where he started working as a scene-painter at the V.I.A., Le Théâtre du Châtelet, and for Canal+ ( the west side studio).
From this period, emerged the desire to do what he allways wanted to do ever since he was a child. Inspired by the joy of life and music, he started doing small pieces of work every night after his days of work, like a night bird.
His first solo exhibition in Paris in 1987 which took place at the famous GRAND REX, were produced by FUN radio. Since then , he exhibits regularly in France and internationally. Diako's work is represented in public and private collections. The artist took part in prestigious group shows with great artists such as César, Arman, Yves Klein, Nam Yune Paik, Dirosa, and Ousmane Sow.
